Morro Bay Photos Picture Gallery

Hi, my name is Gregg Blasingame. I would personally like to thank you for visiting my web site photo gallery. I am a photographer living here on the west coast in Morro Bay, California. I have been in love with photography as long as I can remember. I turned my parents laundry room into a dark room at the age of 14. I was developing my own black and white film then and making my own prints. Things have changed quite a bit over the years. I have tried my best to keep up with the changes and improve my photography skills. Now my dark room is on my computer and my camera is digital. Photography is a whole new different world and it is still changing and will continue to change. I love this hobby and have a passion for it. Living in Morro Bay offers me the opportunity to shoot photos of all kinds of wild life and seascapes. This area is truly beautiful to say the least! On this site you will find pictures of Morro Bay and many photos of the surrounding area. I had a once in a life time opportunity to take an awesome photograph of a humpback whale breaching with Morro Rock in the background. I must say this is by far to date my favorite photograph. While deep sea fishing with my family on our boat we noticed this huge humpback whale in the distance. We moved the boat so the humpback whale would be between us and Morro Rock. I had my camera on auto wind and was waiting for another breach with my lens pointed toward Morro Rock. I couldn't believe my eyes after I took this photo. Every one on the boat was yelling, "Did you get that! Did you get it!" "Yes I got it I yelled." Now there are some people who do not believe this photo is real. This photo is as REAL as it GETS! I have many witnesses to this fact that were on the boat with me. I did have to adjust the levels because it was a very foggy day and the image was a little under exposed. Bright snow and fog will make the camera's meter over compensate and close the aperture underexposing the photo. I was able to set the levels back up in photoshop as is required by many such photographs. Read more about this photo in the gallery HERE.

Black & White Photos Morro Bay Gallery

Some times things just look better in black and white. The beauty of shooting digital is you can have the best of both worlds. Most all of my photos are available in color as well as black and white from this online gallery. I really like the pictures of Morro Rock with lightning in black and white.
